LIFT Lecture Series
Our research has conducted many content analyses and audits of news coverage, assessing news patterns and trends of some of the most consequential events of our time. In those analyses, visual journalists tend to be the mold breakers. The overall patterns they produce defy the stereotypical narratives we often find winding through written prose. As such, this semester, we started a LIFT Lecture Series, bringing Michigan’s practicing visual journalists to our classrooms to meet with students, to discuss the challenges and triumphs of being a photojournalist, and to work with students to build the next generation of change makers.
